session before qualifying for the British Grand Prix. The Dutchman was very strong and took four tenths off his teammate, Sergio Pérez, who was second. For his part, Carlos Sainz finished sixth and Alonso, with little filming, tenth.

After a 'strange' Friday due to the rain that appeared in Free Practice 1, the drivers have faced the last free practice session with the aim of preparing for this afternoon's classification. The session started with 17°C in the atmosphere and 25°C on the asphalt, as well as gusts of wind of up to 30 km/h.

Fernando Alonso, on soft tires and with the new Alpine upgrade package, was the first to complete a lap and set a time of 1'34"826, a very slow time that his team-mate lowered right after. Esteban Ocon, nine tenths.

The Ferraris came out soon and with no time to lose they took first and second place. Leclerc stopped the clock in 1'29"452 and Sainz was three tenths behind, both on soft tyres.

Pérez was also quick to leave, the Mexican's feelings yesterday weren't too good, so there was no time to waste. The Red Bull driver fell within a tenth of Leclerc's time on his first lap.

Alonso has made a run of 11 starting laps, with the aim of testing all the new components of the A522, since he could not do a long run yesterday and after completing it, the Asturian has returned to the pits.

As for Mercedes, Hamilton closed the lap and was third, three tenths behind Leclerc, a position that was soon taken from him by Russell.

Little by little the track has been improving and the times have reflected this. Charles Leclerc, on six lap soft tyres, lowered his own time and stopped the clock at 1'29"021.

All the drivers have opted for soft tires for the first stint of these Free Practice 3s with the exception of the two McLarens and the two Alpha Tauris, who have opted for medium compounds.

Max Verstappen, who was the last rider to take to the track, managed to set the best time of the weekend so far on his first attempt: 1'28"541.

Alonso, after the pit stop, completed the lap and climbed to seventh position. While Sainz also crossed the finish line and moved into third place, three tenths off Verstappen's time on his ninth lap on the soft tyres. The man from Madrid complained about the bounce on the radio, unlike Russell, who reported on the radio that the W13 did not suffer from this phenomenon today.

At the halfway point of the session, many drivers have entered the pits to prepare for the second stint, so the activity on the track has dropped noticeably. Although Verstappen has kept track of improving his own record. Hamilton was also left out, the Briton did a long stint and, confirming yesterday's good feeling, he was second, one tenth behind the Dutchman.

Little by little the riders came out again and the threat of rain reached the Silverstone circuit, but finally the entire session was held in the dry. Russell has been the first to close the lap in this second stint and has taken a step forward with new soft tires. The one from Mercedes has placed third in the same tenth as Hamilton.

In his first attempt on new soft tyres, Leclerc was second, two thousandths of the reference time, but just behind him, Verstappen completed the lap and set the first 1'27 of the day. Pérez has also improved, although he has not been able to overtake his teammate and has finished second.

As for the middle zone, Norris has mounted soft tires, after a first stint with socks, and has been seventh. The Alpines, on the other hand, have had cracking problems with their new pontoons and have run very little due to lack of spare parts.

Alonso has left with seven minutes to go, with used soft tires, but he has not been able to improve and has been tenth.

The times have not changed in the last bars of the session. Thus, Verstappen has dominated the last free practice session followed by his teammate, Pérez, Leclerc has been third and the two Mercedes fourth and fifth.
